User Guide for Traders (level 1)

2. ForexCup Participant Personal Area


1. General Information

To enter the application use the following link http://forexcup.com. The links to the main Sections of the web-application are located at the top of the page. They are HOME, COMPETITIONS, RATINGS and FORUM ― link to the relative FXOpen forum thread.



1.1. HOME

Click the HOME link to familiarize yourself with the ForexCup Traders Competitions and their types (Team vs Team, Free for All and One vs One) to look through the top 5 most popular competitions and most successful traders.

1.2. COMPETITIONS

Click the COMPETITIONS link to view the list of the competitions available for participation, the ones a trader can subscribe to at the present moment. Choose Competition type (Team vs Team, Free for All or One vs One) and click More Info to view details of the Competition Parameters.



The More Info tab contains the following competition data:



  • Total Number of Subscriptions ― total number of ROOMS (see Competition Rounds) available in this competition;

  • Total Number of Subscribed Members ― total number of participants with ‘Member’ (see What is a competition?) status;

  • Total Number of 'Wish to Play' Members ― total number of participants indicated their willingness to take in the competition by clicking the button (see How to Participate);

  • Min. Lot Size ― minimum contract volume available for the competition (in lots);

  • Max. Lot Size ― maximum contract volume available for the competition (in lots);

  • Start Debit ― the starting amount of virtual money that will be added to the participant’s demo account;

  • Using Expert Advisers ― this parameter specifies if Expert Advisors may or may not be used by traders in this competition;

  • Leverage ― the borrowed funds to own funds ratio that must be maintained in participants' accounts;

  • Maximum orders ― the maximum quantity of orders allowed to be opened simultaneously in this competition;

  • Competition Rating ― the total number of participants in all subscriptions of this competition.


Please note! For the period the Competition Status remains Registration Started the Competition Rating is always equal to ‘0’ and will be changed just after the Competition is started (Competition Started status).


Click the button to take part in the chosen Competition. You will be asked to enter your login and password. If authorization is successful you will be redirected to the Competitions tab of your ForexCup Personal Area. Here you can view Competition Parameters once again and look through the list of participants.

Click Close Info to close More Info tab.

1.3. RATINGS

Click RATINGS to find participants by name and get information on their ratings. User’s rating includes three components: Wins, Losses and Total Profit.

Enter nickname of the participant you want to find and click Search.



Search results will be displayed in the Found Results table:



Rating components:

  • Wins. If you take a medal place in a competition of One vs One or Free for All type you will receive one Win pointf you are a member of a team which won a competition of Team vs Team type you will also receive one Win point regardless whether you took a medal place or not;

  • Losses. If you don't take a medal place you will receive one Loss point;

  • Total Profit. It is the main indicator of your success as a Trader. Total Profit value directly affects your position in the Player Common Rating. Total Profit is calculated the following way: For instance, a trader took part in three ForexCup Competitions. During the Competitions he earned or lost the following amounts:
    1st Competition: 20% of the initial balance;
    2nd Competition: 35% of the initial balance;
    3rd Competition: - 25% of the initial balance.
    It means that the Total Profit of this participant after the three competitions will be equal to: 20%+35%-25%=30%.

1.4. FORUM

To discuss any questions concerning your participation in the competitions or problems you experiencing while using the application go to the FORUM tab. You will be redirected to the relative FXOpen forum thread.

Click the Competition Rules and How to Participate buttons to view detailed information about the Competition Rules and possible ways to become a participant.

2. ForexCup Participant Personal Area

To enter your My FXOpen Personal Area use the same login and password you used to enter My FXOpen area. The upper part of the page contains three main tabs: Home, Competitions, My Subscriptions. Below there is an information field containing the following elements:



  • The Number of account you used to enter the application. If you win a competition your bonus will be transferred to this account. If you have several FXOpen accounts you may choose one of them from the drop-down list to receive the bonus;



  • Please, note! If the account you have chosen is currently blocked you will not be able to withdraw any funds from it.


  • Your current account balance (Available Funds);

  • Wins. If you take a medal place in a competition of One vs One or Free for All type you will receive one Win pointf you are a member of a team which won a competition of Team vs Team type you will also receive one Win point regardless whether you took a medal place or not;

  • Losses - the number of rounds you lost. If you don't take a medal place you will receive one Loss point;

  • Total Profit. It is the main indicator of your success as a Trader. Total Profit value directly affects your position in the Player Common Rating;

    Total Profit is calculated the following way: For instance, a trader took part in three ForexCup Competitions. During the Competitions he earned or lost the following amounts: 1st Competition: 20% of the initial balance;
    2nd Competition: 35% of the initial balance;
    3rd Competition: - 25% of the initial balance.
    It means that the Total Profit of this participant after the three competitions will be equal to: 20%+35%-25%=30%.


Please note! If you are suspended from a competition for some violation of the Competition Rules you will receive 1 Loss point and -100% of Total Profit.


The List of Invitations table, available on any tab, shows you the invitations sent to you by competition creators (the Application administrator or a manager).



You may accept or reject any of the invitations. In the table title you will see the number of New Invitations (unread ones) and the total number of Invitations (Total Invitations). Study the parameters of the competition that you are invited to join. For this purpose click the name of the Trading Room (for instance Room 1, Room 2, etc.) in the List of Invitations tab. You will be redirected to the My Subscriptions tab. Click:

  • Accept ― to confirm your participation in the competition;
  • Decline ― to reject the invitation;
  • Cancel ― to return to the previous page.




Please note! We strongly recommend pressing the Refresh button before you accept or decline the invitation as the lists of participants may have changed during the time you studied the invitation. You may also reject an invitation by clicking the button in the List of Invitations table.


2.1. HOME Tab


The application will inform you of any changes and news regarding your participation in any competition in the List of System Messages table. In the table title you will see the number of New Messages (unread ones) and the total number of Messages (Total Messages).

As a participant of a competition you will receive the following types of messages:

Icon Type of Message

Messages informing that the status of the competition you participate in has been changed (start/end of registration, start/end of competition).

Messages informing that a participant, who was your partner in a Trading Room, was suspended from competition (a participant can be suspended from competition by the Administrator for violating Competition Rules only.

Messages informing that the Trading Room you were supposed participate in has been deactivated. A Trading Room may be removed in one of the following cases:

  • by the competition creator (reasoning is optional);


  • a Trading Room is deleted automatically just after registration is over if there are not enough participants in it.

Messages informing traders that the competition they were supposed to participate in has been deactivated by the administrator (if running it any further is considered unnecessary).



Below the List of System Messages table there is information about the top 5 most popular competitions and the most successful traders rating.

2.2. COMPETITIONS tab


2.2.1. Searching and choosing a competition

In order to take part in a competition do the following:

  1. Go to the Competitions tab.


  2. Use the search function to select the competitions that suit you best. Enter the search criteria and click the Search button.



    Please, note! Select option Competition Start From/To to specify the start and the end of the competition. Otherwise, the search results will include all competitions available for subscription (All available).


  3. Select a suitable competition and study its parameters (see Competition parameters).


  4. If you decided to join the selected competition, click the button. After that you will be redirected to the Competition Info page that details the competition information and shows the list of Trading Rooms.


  5. Click the Сompetition Schedule area, to confirm your participation in it. Once activated, the Competition Schedule area will be highlighted grey, and you will be listed as willing to participate in the competition. Click the area once again to cancel your participation.



2.2.2. Searching and choosing a Trading Room

After a competition is chosen you will need to decide which Trading Room you would like to join. For that purpose take the following steps:

  1. Use the search function to select a Trading Room that suits you best. Enter the search criteria and click the Search button.




  2. If the search results include a Trading Room that suits you, you may join it by clicking the Subscribe/View button. You will see detailed information about the Room including the list of traders who have been invited and confirmed their participation.



    Please note! If Your Participant Status in this round is Invited, LookedThrough or Accepted, instead of the Subscribe button you will see the button View. Press it to confirm your participation in the competition (if your status is Invited or LookedThrough).


  3. Click the Add me button, to include yourself in the list of Trading Room participants (in the selected team) with the LookedThrough status. As a result Your Participant Status will be changed from None to Member.


  4. Please, note!
    The Add me button is available for:
    • traders who have found a Public Trading Room (provided that there are still vacancies to join it);
    • traders who have been invited to join a Trading Room of a Public Team Against Team Competition. Using this button, a trader invited to join the competition may leave one team and join the other (provided that there are vacancies in the other team).


  5. Click:
    • Save And Accept – to confirm your final decision to take part in the Trading Room (Your Participant Status will be changed from None to Player, and your status in the Room will be changed to Approved);
    • Cancel – to cancel your actions.

    Note 1. Traders who confirmed their participation by clicking the Save and Accept button will not be able to cancel their confirmation! You will have to refresh the web-page to see your competition demo account information.


    Note 2. Please, make sure you save the demo account information in a safe and secure place. It will be shown to you only once! The detailed demo account information will also be e-mailed to you.

2.3. MY SUBSCRIPTIONS tab


A trader can monitor intermediary and final competition results of each member. To view results, select the necessary Trading Room on the My Subscriptions tab. Depending on the competition status and the status of the member, whose results you would like to view, the following information will be available to you:

While a competition is in progress any participant can view information on trade operations made by other players. Click player name on the MY SUBSCRIPTIONS tab. A table containing the list of transactions and Summary will be opened on a new page. Only closed transactions are available for viewing in this table.



Closed Transactions

  • Ticket — unique transaction number;

  • Open Time — the time you opened an order;

  • Type — type of order. Only three types of trade operations can be displayed here. They are: 'Balance’ ― funds credited to your demo account, "Buy" — long position, and "Sell" — short position;

  • Size — contract volume (in lots);

  • Item — shows financial instrument used in the transaction;

  • Price — open price;

  • S/L — Stop Loss level;

  • T/P — Take Profit level;

  • Close Time — the time you closed an order;

  • Price — close price;

  • Commission — comission charged by the dealing company for trade operations ;

  • Swap — shows swap value;

  • Profit — displays trade deal financial result. Positive numbers mean the deal was profitable, negative ones ― lossmaking.


Summary

This section displays general information on financial results of the closed orders made by a participant.

Please, note! The final competition results are announced by the Administrator within 2 days from the end of competition.


A Trader may view information about the competitive results on the My Subscriptions tab. For that purpose click the name of the Trading Room you participated in. Here you can observe the information about winners and bonus values.
